Job description

ADULT RECOVERY SERVICES SERVICE PROVIDER:
Full-time position with an excellent benefits package is available with Adult Recovery Services. Join a dedicated team providing critical services to adults diagnosed with mental illness in our local communities.
_*Basic work schedule is Monday thru’ Friday; 8:30am-4:30pm; 37.5 hours per week with some flexibility needed as necessary. Primary worksite is located in Utica, NY with some travel to the Rome, NY worksite needed._*
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Adult Recovery Services (ARS) Service Provider provides employment services, group services and individual services to adults with Axis I mental health diagnoses including those in the Community Oriented Recovery and Empowerment (CORE) Services program. The ARS Service Provider works to promote psychiatric rehabilitation through employment assistance and other structured and planned activities. H/she responds to consumer needs, and promotes/encourages consumers to advance their skills in social and vocational areas, thus contributing to the consumer’s recovery.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Employment Responsibilities:

o Assesses and obtains preliminary information about clients, including educational goals and career goals to formulate an individual service plan.
o Performs on-site and off-site job client coaching.
o Assists clients with job searches
o Encourages client participation/engagement in ARS groups to assist with resume writing, interviewing techniques, managing job-related stress, managing symptoms, professionalism, etc.
o Works with Employment Services and Assisted Competitive Employment Clientele

  • ARS Responsibilities:

o Identifies client’s needs and links to appropriate community resources.
o Encourages client participation/engagement in appropriate programming, services, and provides assistance as needed.
o Provides general support, encouragement, and motivation to clients.
o Assists team members, consumers and Program Director with service design and development.
o Facilitates and co-facilitates groups that are both curriculum and evidence based.
o Processes intakes, referrals, and assessments with team as needed.

  • CORE Services Responsibilities:

o Utilizes electronic health record (EHR) programs to track and document Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) client groups and actions.
o Facilitates or Co-Facilitates CORE Services groups
o Performs One on One services to CORE Clients

  • Provides timely and accurate record required documentation.
  • Maintains self in professional manner at all times, adhering to The Neighborhood Center policies and procedures; keeping with the Agency’s mission statement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Program Supervisors and Agency Administration.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possesses work experience demonstrating strong organizational, assessment and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to interact with a wide variety of diverse personnel within the community as well as agency staff.
  • Proven ability to provide support, comfort and reassurance to consumers.
  • Demonstrative ability to provide safe, positive and planned educational activities.
  • Proven ability to prepare accurate and timely written reports and records.
  • Must possess a valid New York State Driver’s License and have transportation.
  • High School Diploma/Equivalency Diploma and one (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience working with individuals with Substance Use Disorder (SUD) or Serious Mental Illness (SMI) required

  • Associate’s Degree in Human Services or closely related field and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in the Mental Health field preferred. EOE

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
