Base Schedule: 7:00am-7:30pm/7:00pm-7:30am – (3) three 12-hour shifts with some weekends required.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Intensive Crisis Stabilization Center ICSC) Licensed Clinical Counselor provides intensive assessment, linkage and follow-up of individuals identified to be in acute psychiatric distress or substance use crisis presenting to the Intensive Crisis Stabilization Center (ICSC). Further, s/he/they is responsible for referring clients to appropriate agencies for needed services and for assessing and intervening with individuals whose needs are more complex, requiring a higher level of expertise. S/he/they is expected to perform job functions with a degree of independence, and is expected to assist in the management of day-to-day service operation.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Provides short-term crisis intervention and diffusion for children and adults at the ICSC, including comprehensive crisis assessment and suicide/homicide lethality
- Maintains accurate clinical documentation of client/ agency contacts in accordance with program policy and procedure manual.
- Attends and actively participates in all required training, staff meetings and case conferences as required by agency administration.
- Engages in supervision on a regular basis.
- Maintain relationships with local law enforcement, emergency services, hospital systems and other key stakeholders.
- Ensures the timely delivery of short-term mental health and substance use crisis intervention, follow-up and linkage to community resources and supports.
- Provides educational/ marketing /training presentations to the community, as assigned by the Program Director.
- Coordinate treatment with an interdisciplinary team.
- Secures and maintains all necessary certification and professional licensing as dictated by profession and required qualifications.
- Makes recommendation and assists in facilitating the appropriate level of treatment/services/supports.
- Ensures program compliance and enforces standards in accordance with all local, state, and federal governing laws and regulations which include but are not limited to: HIPAA regulations and confidentiality.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) licensed by the New York State (NYS) Education Department with two (2) years of experience in the provision of mental health services
OR
- A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed by the New York State (NYS) Education Department with two (2) years of experience in the provision of mental health services
OR
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) licensed by the New York State (NYS) Education Department with two (2) years of experience in the provision of mental health services
OR
- A Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) licensed by the New York State (NYS) Education Department with two (2) years of experience in the provision of mental health services

- Experience working well as a team member.
- Ability to work collaboratively with individuals and agencies within the community.
