  • $18.47/hr.
  • 37.5-hour work week
  • M – F

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Day Care Registration Caseworker registers and maintains a caseload of New York State (NYS) registered family day care (FDC) homes and school-age child care (SACC) programs.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Monitor compliance with NYS regulations for FDC homes and SACC programs.
  • Provide technical assistance to prospective NYS registered FDC providers and SACC programs and ongoing technical assistance to existing FDC providers and SACC programs.
  • Completion of annual and biannual renewals for NYS registered FDC providers and SACC programs.
  • Investigate complaints reported on FDC homes and SACC programs (registered, informal, and non-registered) in Oneida County.
  • Complete safety assessments and criminal history reviews.
  • Fingerprint prospective FDC and SACC staff and other persons related to programming.
  • Present informational meetings to prospective FDC providers.
  • Teach NYS registered FDC providers the OCDSS billing procedure for subsidized childcare.
  • Act as a resource to NYS registered FDC providers and SACC programs regarding training, childcare issues, and concerns.
  • Provide ongoing advocacy for NYS registered FDC homes and SACC programs.
  • Complete inspection on NYS registered FDC home and SACC programs to ensure compliance with NYS regulations.
  • Maintain a relationship with NYS OCFS to ensure quality services to NYS registered FDC providers and SACC programs.
  • Complete and maintain progress notes in files of individual registered FDC providers and SACC programs.
  • Responsible for own record keeping, computer data entry, generating and typing of case specific letters.
  • Attend and/or pursue professional training on an as-needed basis.
  • Support and promote policies of the department and agency.
  • To fulfill other assigned responsibilities as specified by the Program Director.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or closely related field.
