Program Assistant

PROGRAM ASSISTANT:

NEW ~ Full-time position with an excellent benefits package is available.
Basic work schedule is Monday thru’ Friday; 8:30AM-4:30PM; 37.5 hours per week with some flexibility needed as necessary.

This is position provides office support to the Maternal Infant Community Health Collaborative-Community Health Worker Program.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Maternal Infant Community Health Collaborative-Community Health Worker (MICHC-CHW) Program Assistant is a support position in an office and increases the effectiveness of program staff by assisting in carrying out the day-to-day support activities required to accomplish the work of the organization. Tasks fall into three broad categories: communications, organization and data entry. Within these categories, the Program Assistant performs a variety of tasks, which assist managers and program staff to accomplish the mission of the agency. In doing so, the Program Assistant must be familiar with and have knowledge of the operations of the MICHC Program and CHW Program in specific.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Enters data entry in to the MICHC database as requested.

• Performs a wide variety of tasks in support of administrators and staff.

• Follows established office procedure and functions independently, with direction, to complete tasks including but not limited to: opening, reviewing, sorting and distributing the mail in accordance with staff assignments, directing incoming correspondence to the appropriate personnel, managing paper flow and maintaining efficient work flow in the office and responding to phone calls and visitors’ questions.

• Assist with supply inventory and general clerical tasks.

• Assists in the coordination of information by acting as liaison between supervisors, other employees and the public

• Assists supervisors in researching background information and on special projects.

• Maintains self in a professional manner at all times, adhering to Neighborhood Center policy and procedures and in keeping with the mission statement.

• Performs other duties as requested.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a valid New York State Driver’s License and transportation to transport departmental mail for postage and distribution and related tasks.

• A High School Diploma/Equivalency Diploma required and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience with computer software including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. EOE
