PROJECT HOPE FISCAL ASSISTANT

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Project Hope Administrative Assistant provides accounting support to the Project Hope Team.

Part-time position with excellent benefits. Basic work schedule: 20 hours per week; Some flexibility required as necessary to meet program needs.
The position is part of a new program and provides disaster counseling and outreach to individuals, families and groups who have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19. This is a six (6) month grant funded position.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Performs routine clerical accounting duties related to the preparation, processing, and maintenance of statistical, financial, billing and related records.

• Tracks and monitors local program expenses and creates and submits claims to RFMH for reimbursement

• Monitoring of approved budget to ensure spending conforms to approved amounts.

• Prepares fiscal reports as required.

• Performs quality control and oversight of program purchases.

• Works closely with Program Coordinator to ensure that funds are being appropriately used for crisis counseling services.

• Responsible for processing timesheets and payroll as assigned.

• Maintains self in professional manner at all times, adhering to the Neighborhood Center policy, procedures and in keeping with the Agency’s mission statement.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Possesses knowledge of:
o General principles and practices of accounting.
o Proper cash handling.
o Office machines, office filing systems and record keeping procedures.
o Basic computer software for spreadsheets and word processing.
o Basic mathematics and presentation for statistical information.
o Accurate spelling, punctuation and grammar.

Possesses the competence to:
o Perform technical and administrative work in areas such as fiscal recordkeeping and accounting systems.
o Perform mathematical computations rapidly and accurately.
o Understand and follow detailed instructions.
o Read, understand and apply written regulations and other job-related materials.
o Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
o Work neatly, accurately and systematically.
o Operate adding machines, calculators, typewriter, computers, postal machines, and any other related office equipment.
o Comply with Agency policies and procedures.

Preferred Education-Associates Degree in Accounting or related field. EOE
