Standard work schedule of 37.5 hour work week, M-F, with flexibility as needed.
The Neighborhood Center, Inc.’s human service roots date back to 1905, when it began as a settlement house assisting immigrants. Today, the agency provides a full range of outreach, preventative, developmental and therapeutic human services for over 20,000 individuals in the local and surrounding communities.

Several levels of the clinic management team are licensed clinicians and understand the importance of providing a high degree of support. Therapists have continuous access to program management and excellent administrative and clinical support in regards to credentialing, caseload management, scheduling, and billing. Our agency’s focus on enhancing Evidence Based Practices has led to training opportunities in advanced clinical interventions for therapists that are not commonly available in community mental health settings including EMDR, DBT, and PCIT.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Director of the Mohawk Valley Behavioral Health Independent Provider Association is responsible for the development, implementation and operational excellence of the behavioral healthcare collaborative system. The position is responsible for working collectively with members of the Independent Provider Association (IPA) to advance the growth, quality, and, efficiency of behavioral health services for children and adults in the transition to managed care. The primary duties will include system-wide communication, lead provider innovation, initiatives, and, strategies, including network provider pricing, fee schedules, cost optimization, and improvement opportunities, value-based contracting, provider incentive program development and other strategies while improving quality, access, and, customer satisfaction.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Builds relationships with stakeholders to align objectives, develop strategy and maximize outcomes.
- Directs and supervises IPA staff in operations and relationship management associated with goals.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures to support and enhance the day-to-day operations through program management, compliance, inter-agency and intra-program communications in concert with the executive management team.
- Assures optimal planning and delivery of services for this program with all partners while working closely with the executive management team.
- Analyzes data appropriate for monitoring the outcomes of the Collaborative in terms of managed care goals for behavioral healthcare while working closely with the executive management team.
- Identifies and implements strategic initiatives to achieve short- and long-term goals for the program while working closely with the executive management team.
- Plans proactively, designs, and executes processes that enhance efficiency and productivity and lead to cost savings with the appropriate program committee.
- Ensures systems are in place to provide effective outcome monitoring and continuous improvement in all program functions.
- Informs the Board President of all material issues affecting the IPA.
- Represents the Agency at various community meetings and forums.
- Maintains self in a professional manner always and adheres to the policies and procedures of the Agency.
- Leverages technology to drive process improvement and operational efficiency and improve clinical results.
- Performs other duties as assigned including job related travel.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven substantial experience and skills in project management.
- Proven knowledge of and experience in strategic planning concepts, problem solving, data management and public speaking.
- A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration or a very closely related field and a minimum of three (3) years of progressive responsibilities and experience in the health care field required
OR
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration or a very closely related field and a minimum of five (5) years of progressive responsibilities and experience in the health care field required.
