Child Care

Our child care is so much more. We offer developmentally appropriate programs and specialized curriculum for a children ages 6 weeks through 12 years. Our child care has a strong educational focus that is designed to ensure your child is ready for kindergarten. At The Neighborhood Center, we believe every moment is a teachable moment. Our programming provides options to create the most fitting path for your child’s success.

The Neighborhood Center provides licensed care for children under the guidance of trained professionals. Our center provides a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment based on the age and developmental level of each child. Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks are provided at no cost following Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) nutrition guidelines.

How We Help

Hours and location for Infants, Toddlers and Preschoolers (ages 6 weeks - 5 years): Full time care is available from 6:30AM until 5:30PM Monday through Friday*

School Age Child Care

Open between 6:30AM and 5:30PM, our SACC program provides fun, safe, and educational care before and after school, on school closings and holidays during the school year* following the Utica City School District Calendar. Filled with themed activities and adventures, our summer program begins the Monday after school is recessed and ends the Friday before Labor Day. Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks are provided following CACFP nutrition guidelines during school breaks and the summer. A healthy afternoon snack is provided during the school year.

How We Help

Hours and location for SACC: Care is available from 6:30AM until 5:30PM Monday through Friday*

Transportation for SACC enrollees is provided by UCSD to children living in the UCSD during the school year.

*The child care centers are closed the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4th), Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Friday following Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.

Children's Center

The Center operates Children's Centers at each of the Family Court facilities in Utica and Rome, providing literacy-based drop-in childcare for children whose parents or caregivers are attending to court matters. The Center additionally provides families with information, referrals, and connections to health, education, child care, and other community-based services.

Universal Pre-Kindergarten

The Center partners with the Utica City School District and the Waterville School District to offer both morning and afternoon a Universal Pre-K program for 4-year-olds living within the district. Childcare services are also available on-site before and after UPK hours.
