Important update regarding The Neighborhood Center and COVID-19

In response to the current public health threat The Neighborhood Center is supporting and instituting the following actions:

  • At close of business on Tuesday March 17, 2020 all sites will be closed to the public until April 20, 2020.
  • Many of our programs will continue to operate remotely, albeit on a somewhat limited service basis.
  • Additionally, we will continue to maintain our business phone as a means to assist individuals in need in whatever capacity we can.

These short term actions are necessary for the safety and well-being of all.

While we all must maintain social distancing to reduce the spread of this virus, please remember that these precautions are temporary and necessary only for a little while.  We urge all to relax and follow the recommendations of our local health officials.

If you or a loved one is having difficulty coping the Crisis Assessment Team is available 24/7 at 315-732-6228.

Let’s all do our part to help reduce the spread!   Stay home when possible, but don’t forget to get some fresh air by going for a walk even if it’s only in your backyard.  Exercise is important and will not only keep your body healthy, but your mind as well! Meditation is a very beneficial way to help center ourselves, try to spend at least 10 minutes a day focusing on breathing and calmness.  It’s a great time to learn a new hobby or skill.

Don’t be afraid to laugh! Have fun by playing some games!  Don’t watch too much TV and when you do keep it light hearted!

And of course wash your hands!!!

We look forward to seeing you all in April!

Stay well friends!

Sandra Soroka, Executive Director
