We’re hosting an art contest open to children 3 – 15 -years-old. ‘Art is Essential and So Are You’ is the theme, encouraging kids to design Thank You Cards for Essential Workers. There will be four artwork winners divided by age that will each win a brand-new bicycle donated by the Centers Executive Management Team.
The initiative will help support community programming. “The purpose of the contest is to provide a safe, fun and creative opportunity for children in the community to showcase their artistic skills while helping us all to thank First Responders and Essential Workers with the additional benefit to raise funds for The Neighborhood Center community-based programming so that we may continue to meet immediate needs of our neighbors during these difficult times,” says Sandy Soroka, Executive Director.
The four winning designs will then be printed into “Thank You” cards for Essential Workers and will be available for purchase by the public. Designs must follow a 5×7 template that can be downloaded from the Neighborhood Center’s Website or a plain sheet of paper can be used. Submissions can be mailed to the center at 624 Elizabeth Street, Utica, or there will be a drop off box at The Neighborhood Center.
There will be specifications for each entry:
- Each entry must have their design drawn on the template provided on The Neighborhood Center website or on a plain white sheet of paper.
- The artwork must have a separate piece of paper stating: Childs Name, age, parents name, address, and phone number.
- Authorization for us to display all artwork on our social media websites and print. All artwork will become the property of The Neighborhood Center, Inc.
- The contest will start On Friday, May 22, 2020, and close by the end of the business day on June 12, 2020.
- Once a winner is chosen, if we are not able to get in touch with the winner within two business days for notification we will have to choose a new winner for that category.
- Winners agree to be photographed with their artwork and bicycle.
